Zanu-PF’S 10 provinces are in the process of finalising their resolutions to be tabled during the forthcoming Zanu-PF 15th Annual National People’s Conference. Some of the provinces are in the process of conducting inter-district meetings to pass resolutions while others have already done that.

In an interview yesterday, Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Simon Khaya Moyo confirmed the developments.

“I was in charge of Matabeleland North and they have passed their resolutions for the conference. A number of other provinces have also passed their resolutions,” he said.

He reiterated that the preparations were going smoothly and that all the sub-committees were winding up their assignments.

Zanu-PF Harare provincial secretary for information and publicity Cde Abicia Ushewokunze said they would hold their provincial conference tomorrow and come up with their resolutions.

“It’s of paramount importance that as a ruling party we come up with the best possible resolutions that are definitive and which can be adopted at the conference.

“That is the main reason for the conference and we urge chairpersons, youth wing, Women’s League and main wing from districts and provincial members to attend and move the country forward,” he said.

Cde Ushewokunze said the provincial conference will be held at Girls High School.

The Zanu-PF Politburo recently set the tone for the conference, unanimously agreeing that the indaba would focus on improving people’s livelihoods as espoused in the economic blueprint, Zim-Asset. The conference is slated for Victoria Falls from December 7-13.

Cde Khaya Moyo said on the agenda would be the state of the party, the state of the economy and the Zim-Asset clusters. The economic blueprint would be the centre of discussion and Finance and Economic Development Minister Patrick Chinamasa, will present a paper on the subject.

“We shall also have on the agenda the liberation war heritage, sports, culture and religion. Women and youth affairs will also be discussed. Only accredited delegates will be allowed to attend the conference,” he said.

Provinces have come up with recommendations for the conference, chief among them being the endorsement of President Mugabe as the party’s candidate for the 2018 elections.
