Zanu PF denounces violence Cde Tafadzwa Mugwadi

VIOLENCE has no place in the Second Republic and any violent characters should face the full wrath of the law, the ruling Zanu PF party has said.

The warning from the Revolutionary Party comes after suspected CCC activists torched the homes of Zanu PF officials in Chitungwiza’s Nyatsime suburb.

Speaking on behalf of party spokesperson Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa, Zanu PF director of Information and Publicity, Cde Tafadzwa Mugwadi, warned perpetrators of violence saying the law will take its course.

“The revolutionary party Zanu PF believes strongly that all this violence was unprovoked, needless but of course well-rehearsed and choreographed by the rank and file of the leadership of Citizen for Coalition for Change (CCC)”.

Recently, CCC leaders threatened to unleash violence if they cannot have their way ahead of next year’s elections.

“We have taken note as a party, their speeches inciting violence throughout the past weeks by CCC deputy chairperson Mr Job Sikhala and his leader Mr Chamisa. All these theatrics were meant to soil the Second Republic’s image ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of State and Government meeting taking place in Rwanda in the next seven days,” said Cde Mugwadi.

He urged party members who were attacked to remain calm while the law takes its course.

“Our hearts go out to Cde Murambatsvina and his family and the generality of our supporters who were targeted by these criminal hooligans. We call for cool heads among our supporters at this difficult hour.

“Abide by President Mnangagwa’s directive to maintain peace at all times, let the law always lead us and justice will prevail.

“Our message to Mr Chamisa and Sikhala and the entirety of the violent lot in the CCC is that no one is above the law notwithstanding your rank and standing in society. The law will always prevail,” said Cde Mugwadi.
