Zanu-PF has congratulated President Mnangagwa following his appointment of a leaner, but diverse and dynamic 20-member Cabinet expected to help him pursue his multi-faceted reforms aimed at realising the vision of turning Zimbabwe into a middle-income economy by 2030.

In a statement yesterday, Zanu-PF national spokesperson Cde Simon Khaya Moyo said the ministers would no doubt assist the President to achieve his vision.

“The revolutionary Zanu-PF party is elated to convey solid and compound congratulations to His Excellency, the President and First Secretary Cde ED Mnangagwa for appointing a Cabinet of massive depth, varied experience, integrity, meritocracy, competent by definition, vibrant, hopefully corruption free and focused,” he said.

“The key is teamwork.”

Cde Khaya Moyo said the mix was inspirational and the opportunity should not be squandered.

“We wish them all a superb performance,” he said.

“Learning never ends. The new Cabinet ministers, ministers of State and deputy ministers must always bear in mind that Government is a product of the party.

“They must always take that into cognisance as a cardinal principle.”

Cde Khaya Moyo said the curtain had been drawn, the stage set, the actors were in place and action was beckoning.

“The ministers will no doubt assist His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa to achieve his vision for a prosperous Zimbabwe in the context of what the recent party’s manifesto demands and what the people have spoken, loud and clear,” he said.

“The historic swearing-in ceremony marks the beginning of the race to total economic emancipation.

“We wish Zimbabwe well. Every citizen has a role to play in the economic upliftment of our country. Let us all subscribe to Unity, Peace and Development.”

The new Cabinet ministers will be sworn in today at State House.
