ZANU-PF Midlands Province says the party is guaranteed of a landslide victory as it has grown bigger and better under the leadership of President Mnangagwa.

In an interview, Zanu-PF Midlands Province spokesperson Cde Cornelius Mupereri said the province would deliver overwhelming votes to the ruling party in the forthcoming harmonised elections.

“As the Midlands Province, we are promising to deliver overwhelming votes to the party that will automatically lead to a landslide victory.

“We are working flat out and the reason for doing so is that Midlands is President Mnangagwa’s home province, so obviously, he will get more support,” he said.

Cde Mepereri said President Mnangagwa is easily marketable, as “he is a doer not a talker”.

“We have been campaigning flat out for our president and the good thing is that he is easily marketable.

“He is a doer and not a talker. There are a lot of pointers.

“He promised to bring foreign election observers and he has done that.

“He promised re-engagement with the international community and we have seen that happening.

“If he is not signing a mega deal, he is out there commissioning a project,” said Cde Mupereri.

Cde Mupereri said President Mnangagwa has created a peaceful campaigning environment for all political parties.

“The campaigning field is very peaceful right now.

“Every political party is free to hold their campaign meetings without fear of being victimised, which was unheard of in the old dispensation.

“Peace and tranquillity is prevailing in the country towards election time.

“That is a clear indication that our party has grown bigger and better under the stewardship of President Mnangagwa,” he said.

Midlands Province managed to mobilise 760 000 prospective voters, against a target of 800 000 voters.
