Romans 12:1; I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

In view of the mercies of God which He showed us by redeeming us by the life and precious blood of His Son, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, we’re alive based on His sacrifice.

As the temple of God, we’re alive because of Christ who lives in us. We present our bodies (which are a living sacrifice) for divine service. Please note that the Bible reads, “a living sacrifice” not, “as a living sacrifice.”

You’re holy because of Christ who lives in you and you’re in Him. It’s Christ’s holiness not yours. You’re acceptable to God in Christ. You therefore don’t live separately from Christ because outside Him there’s no life. Precisely Christ lives His life in you and you yield and reap the benefits.

Always remember that you’re in the Grace of God. It means God is counting on Christ not your works.

It’s unearned, unmerited and undeserved favour. He sees to it that you’re how He desires. His request is that just avail yourself. As you continue to read the Bible, His Word, you will gain more knowledge and appreciate His working in you.

Ephesians 5:26 elaborates, “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.” It’s not self effort.

Your prayer: Father I thank you for your abundant mercy by which you drew me to you. I am grateful for the life of Christ which is in me. I thank you for Christ’s holiness in me by which I am acceptable to you. I’m at your service in Jesus’ name. Amen.
