Kadoma’s hospitality under spotlight
The Odyssey Hotel tonight hosts the Kadoma July Fest.
Zimdancehall sensation, Killer T, will headline this year’s edition, along with Holy Ten.
The “Young Turks” of local showbiz — Master H, Enzo Ishall, Poptain, Bling 4, Pintec and MC Tyrateey — are also part of the line-up.
Event coordinator, Kudzaishe Matondo, said it was all systems go for the show, which seeks to promote pop culture and Kadoma’s hospitality.
“We have done our best to ensure that the event lives up to expectations.”
Killer T, who is trending with the chart-topper “Kana Ndunyura”, will also sample new songs in Kadoma.
Judging by Matondo’s line-up for the festival, variety is guaranteed.
Zimdancehall’s latest gem, Master H, is set to entertain fans with his energy-sapping performance, which has made him distinct.
Complementing Holy Ten is Enzo Ishall, who is comfortable as a rap and Zimdancehall musician.
Poptain will be out to make an impression with his club bangers like “Fadza Mutengi”, “Kokai” and “Bvira Vira” among others.
A sungura dose will be served when Dendera musician Charles Pintec takes to the stage.
A stranger in the house, Pintec has never missed festivals held at The Odyssey.
Chi-town Winter Breakout banger beckons
Top Zimdancehall chanters from Chitungwiza and beyond will alternate under one roof at Dam View’s Blue Roof Bar & Grill tomorrow.
Master H, Dhadza D, Bling 4, Killer T, Merciless Zimbabwe, Junior Spragga and Khonangale will be in action along with resident wheel-spinners.
Show organiser, Comment Mupoga, said: “Winter is almost over and this is the perfect opportunity for fans to come and step into summer in style. We have done all the ground work to ensure that fans get value for their money.”
Saintfloew, Nisha Ts’ romance hits Shurugwi
Consistent rapper Saintfloew and this year’s new revelation, Nisha Ts, are living their dream.
Powered by Nash TV, the youthful duo has won the hearts of youngsters and even the mature fans.
Tomorrow, they perform at Vital Lounge in Shurugwi backed by the Shabach the Band.
Zimdancehall star Jah Master and Leefire_96 are also part of the bill.
Music revellers in Shurugwi and it’s environs will get an opportunity to while away time with the trending youthful musicians.
Mhondoro gwenyambiras in H-Town
Youthful mbira outfit, Madzinza eMbira, returns to Eland Nyashanu Bar in Braeside tonight.
Made up of mbira players from Mhondoro, the group’s quest to promote local culture.
The group’s dominance comes at a time when arts regulatory chiefs have been promotion of traditional instruments.
UK-bound Sudza signs off in style
Sulumani Chimbetu will hold two shows in Harare this weekend before his departure for the United Kingdom and South Africa.
Tonight, he performs at The Yard (formerly Bar Rouge) in Belvedere, Harare.
Tomorrow, he will hold another gig at Mashwede Village.
Sulu, who hardly disappoints on stage, will be departing for international assignments shortly after this double.
Mbeu positions himself well
Afro-fusion star, Ashton “Mbeu” Nyahora is simply unstoppable.
Tonight, he performs at Position Bar in Avondale, Harare.
It’s a free show where his loyal fans will meet their idol.
Mbeu, who was under the tutelage of the late Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi, is a passionate performer.
Rhumba nights awaken Ruwa
Popular rhumba outfit, Bana Des As, has found a new home in Ruwa.
The group, which is promoted by Mama Glow, plays at Red Eagle Bar in Ruwa on Fridays.
Largely composed of Congolese musicians, the outfit has also roped in Zimbabweans instrumentalists for diversity.
Young Igwe meets Chi-Town fans
Utakataka Express heir, Peter “Young Igwe” Moyo will hold a double this weekend.
Tonight, he performs at Joy Centre Nite Club at Makoni shopping centre in Chitungwiza.
He will hold his second gig tomorrow at Sherwood Golf Club in Mabelreign, Harare. The Young Igwe is one of the brilliant performers in sungura who hardly puts his foot wrong.
