The ZANU PF Secretary for Women’s Affairs and more party affiliates have congratulated President Mnangagwa and the ruling party for winning last week’s harmonised elections, adding that the victory demonstrates the people’s confidence in his leadership.
In a statement yesterday, ZANU PF Secretary for Women’s Affairs Cde Mabel Chinomona, Deputy Secretary Cde Judith Ncube, National Executive Council members, the entire Women’s League and staff, said they joined the party and the nation at large, in congratulating President Mnangagwa for winning the elections.
President Mnangagwa, who is also the ZANU PF President and First Secretary, received 52,6 percent of the total votes cast compared to CCC leader Mr Nelson Chamisa’s 44 percent.
Eight other political party leaders got a combined 3,4 percent of the 4 468 730 votes cast across the country on August 23 and 24.
Cde Chinomona said President Mnangagwa was a tried and tested, astute and hardworking servant of the people, who deserved a second term in office.
“The trust and confidence that the people have in you is humbling,” she said. “It is a reflection of the hard work exuded through the livelihood-changing developmental milestones recorded by the Second Republic.
“We commit to support and emulate your hard work as the nation draws towards the attainment of Vision 2030 and the furtherance of the women empowerment agenda, which you fully subscribe to.”
