Warren Park 1 residents in Harare who had gone for years without water have breathed a sigh of relief following the drilling of a solar-powered borehole by South Korean nationals in partnership with the local councillor.

The borehole was drilled today in 4th Crescent near Warren Park police station.

Luke Mission Ministry official, Mr Im Jae Myung said the borehole was the third in Zimbabwe after they drilled two others in Hatcliffe and Nyabira areas.

Councillor Tichavona Mhetu said the area was the most affected in terms of water challenges.

“We have decided to augment the City of Harare water supplies with some boreholes. This is just but some stop gate measure to make sure that all residents have access to water.

“I am thankful to the Upper Manyame sub-catchment council which was pivotal in sourcing the donor on our behalf. I also want to thank the South Koreans who are doing the job here,” he said.
