Warriors beat Namibia to go top

ZIMBABWE have shot to the top of Group J following their 1-0 win over Namibia at Orlando Stadium in South Africa this afternoon.
Khama Billiat converted a penalty in the 34th minute after Jordan Zemura had been fouled inside the box.
The result saw the Warriors gaining control of Pool J proceedings after taking their tally to five points, one above Cameroon and Kenya who play each other tomorrow.
Zimbabwe were the away team in this Southern African duel and were forced to play before empty seats as Namibia decided to have the fixture behind closed doors.
But that didn’t deter the Warriors in any way although they had to dig deep to survive a second-half onslaught from the usual Brave Warriors danger-men Peter Shalulile and Deon Hotto.
At the end the Warriors held on for a sweet victory ahead of the return leg to be played at the same venue on Monday.
