War veterans in Mashonaland Central have partnered AgroEdge, a capital venture company, in a bid to participate in the growth of the economy and reduce over-dependence on Government, provincial chairperson Cde Sam Parirenyatwa has said.

Addressing a meeting in Bindura last week, Cde Parirenyatwa said the partnership will ensure that war veterans venture into agribusinesses in all eight districts in the province.

Cde Parirenyatwa also reiterated the need to ensure a resounding win for President Mnangagwa and the ruling party in forthcoming harmonised elections.

“The partnership is a way of reducing over-dependence on Government and encouraging our members to participate in the growth of the economy.

“We have also secured partners in the mining sector and we have since approached the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, they responded positively,” said Cde Parirenyatwa.

“We intend to venture into fishing and value-addition enterprises on our allocated farms to improve our welfare and economic status.

“As war veterans, we must lead the party campaign as the tip of the spear of zanu-pf. Let’s forget about positions in party and prove our mettle.

“It was observed that there are some war veterans being sponsored by the G40 cabal, who are bent on dividing war veterans and the ruling party. The clique is pursuing an opposition agenda.

“I advised our members to be wary of the enemy’s manoeuvres to discredit the new dispensation and the President.

“The new dispensation is a product of our vigilant and courageous actions.”
