MATHIAS Mhere is a firm believer in forgiveness, reconciliation and resilience.
The 36-year-old reckons the three pillars of conflict resolution should be observed starting at household level.
He brilliantly tackled these issues on his 11th album titled “Akati Anesu” recently launched at Rainbow Towers, Harare.
In his quest to unite feuding families, communities and nations, Mhere went full circle and collaborated with 13 creatives on this project.
Jah Prayzah, Baba Mechanic Manyeruke and Sabastian Magacha are some of the big names who combined forces with Mhere.
Dorcas Moyo, Baba Harare, Jonah Chivasa, Jerdan Paradise, Bethen Pasinawako, Ashton “Mbeu” Nyahora, Comic Elder, Prince Chigwida, and sisters — Mary and Martha Anibal — complete the list of stars who collaborated with Mhere.
It took him a full year working on the project which shows the power of collaborations.
At 36, he has matured both musically and spiritually.
On this album, Mhere roped in four producers — Lyton Ngolomi, Golden Fingers, Rodney, and KB House — in his quest to touch the hearts of many people with quality sound.
His move paid off as the quartet complemented him with their expertise.
Ngolomi produced five songs namely “Dzvanya”, “I am a Winner”, “Tumai Kubwinya”, “Munda Wamambo” and “Cheziya”.
Mhere showed his faith in Golden Fingers who did six songs that include “Forgive and Forget”, “My Testimony”, “Grass to Grace”, “Dzatigere Nadzo”, “Nenyasha” featuring Mary Anibal and “Tongai Mambo”.
Rodney contributed one song “Ndini Here?” while KB Studios’ two tracks — “Zverudzi Urwu” and “Tichamuona” — make the album complete.
He also dropped four beautiful videos of “Forgive and Forget”, “Dzvanya”, “My Testimony” and “Grass to Grace”.
Production-wise, Mhere’s album is of superior quality.
He gave the four producers the liberty and freedom to do their jobs.
Mhere prays for unity in the opening track, “Forgive and Forget”.
He believes the feuding parties can only live in harmony if they forgive each other and forget.
Of course, forgiving and forgetting is easier said than done but Mhere believes it is achievable with God’s love.
The song’s accompanying video, which is trending on YouTube, was expertly done.
The audio is of a good quality.
