Nyore Madzianike Senior Court Reporter
TWO women were committed to perform 280 hours of unpaid work after they were found in possession of 150 bottles of BronCleer Cough Syrup they intended to sell in Harare’s Glen View suburb.

Evelyn Kasinaubari (40) of Glen View 7, and Trish Chinyamakobvu (32) of Kuwadzana were initially jailed for 12 months when they appeared before magistrate Mrs Barbra Mateko charged with possession of unregistered medicines.

Mrs Mateko set aside four months of the jail term on condition that they do not commit a similar offence within the next five years.

The remaining eight months were suspended on condition that each of them performs 280 hours of community service. Kasinauburi will work at Glen View 2 Primary School while Chinyamakobvu will perform her punishment at Kuwadzana Police Station.

Kasinaubari’s husband, Ben Bushu, who was jointly charged with the two denied the charges. He was remanded to September 30 for trial. Mrs Polite Chikiwa appeared for the State.
