Two Mapanzure villagers found dead in pool

George Maponga Masvingo Bureau

Two of the three villagers from Mapanzure communal lands who last Friday disappeared after plunging into a pool while in an alleged trance have been found dead.

Bodies of the two unnamed males from Tazvigwira village were found floating in a pool in Musogwezi River by villagers on Thursday evening.

The third villager, a young woman from the same village is still missing.

Villagers, together with traditional leaders, have been performing rituals on the banks of Musogwezi River from the time the trio plunged into the water.

Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa today confirmed that bodies of two missing villagers had been found floating in a pool.

Villagers blocked the police sub-aqua unit from participating in the search and rescue mission, insisting on using traditional methods to help them return alive.
