During pre-trial argument which can now be reported, Tulisa’s barrister Jeremy Dein QC, attempted to have the case thrown out before it went to trial. Tulisa feared an undercover journalist was drawing her into “celebrity prostitution” in exchange for a £3,5 million film part during his botched sting on the star, court documents have alleged.

Tulisa was charged with helping to supply Mazher Mahmood with half an ounce of cocaine worth £800 to secure a Hollywood role but the trial collapsed on Monday.

The ex-N-Dubz star had allegedly brokered the deal for the journalist while he was posing as a wealthy Bollywood filmmaker named Samir Khan.
She was promised a starring role in a Slumdog Millionaire style rags-to-riches story alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

In documents, submitted to Judge Alistair McCreath, Tulisa’s barrister Jeremy Dein QC claimed Mahmood and his team used a variety of tactics to entrap Tulisa, including ‘‘sex for payment’’ with the journalist.

The singer’s PA, Gareth Varey, reported an encounter with a photographer in Los Angeles, while Tulisa looked for film work in early 2013, at the start of Mahmood’s sting operation, when a photographer offered him cocaine.

On 10 May 2013, Tulisa met the undercover reporters at London’s Metropolitan Hotel for a fateful six-hour drinking session. They included Samir (Mahmood) and Nish (Mahmood’s colleague) posing as filmmakers wanting to sign up Tulisa.

“Throughout the evening, Samir and his teams were plying TC and her companions with alcohol, in particular Mojitos and Platinum tequila shots,’ the document states.

Samir commented on the expensive drinks he was ordering, but encouraged TC and her party to drink.
“He and his associate were, unbeknownst to TC, not in fact consuming alcohol; all the while they were cajoling and persuading (their) victims to drink so much they became intoxicated.

“As a consequence of drink, the events of the evening have become blurred for TC.
“She recalls parts, but not all. Her recollection as to detail is inevitably impaired.

“There was discussion of a very wide range of topics. At one stage, TC referred to her problems with depression and the assistance she had in falling asleep from occasional use of ‘weed’.

“Thereafter, Samir referred repeatedly to weed, and encouraged discussion of it.”
The document continues: ‘In the thick of these events, TC was accompanied to the lavatory by Nish. There, Nish told TC that she could expect a fee of £3.5m for her part in the film. – Mirror.
