The year started on a bad note for Pamuzinda Ice ‘n’ Fire, when fire destroyed its main bar, which the venue proprietor Josh Hozheri says they will soldier on and continue providing good entertainment for their patrons and music fans in general.

Tonight the venue hosts a top-class gig featuring superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, Suluman Chimbetu, Soul Jah Love and DJ Cables.

Dubbed “The First Gig” the show will be Mtukudzi’s first public performance this year and fireworks are expected. Whenever Mtukudzi and Chimbetu shares stage they do their best in keeping fans on the dancing floor. The two musicians have duets “Kwedu” that is known as “Kata” and “Idah Nhoro”.

Interestingly, Chimbetu has a duet with Soul Jah Love titled “Nyuchi” a song that has become a darling of many music lovers.

Musicians usually thrill fans when they unite on stage playing their duets together. Hozheri is optimistic that the gig will be a success.

“We are happy that since last year we have been hosting successful gigs with the superstar and with the first gig a lot is expected on the show,” he said.

On the other hand Chimbetu promised fireworks at the show. He said they were happy to be sharing stage with the superstar. His publicist Joe Nyamungoma said it was good that they were starting their year on a high note.

“Sharing stage with the superstar is always good. He has taught us a lot about showbiz,” he said.

Nyamungoma said they would play their songs from the “Just Singles” a compilation of singles.

Hozheri thanked the musicians for standing with him.

“I know it is going to be a successful show and I want to thank the musicians for standing with me in trying times. It is time to celebrate and enjoy,” he said.
