Transactions increase

According to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s quarterly economic review to June 2019 released last week, all payment streams in the country recorded increases in values and volumes for the second quarter with the exception of POS,
Cheque and ATM volumes when compared to the quarter ending 31 March 2019.

Compared to the first quarter of 2019, all payment streams recorded increases in values and volumes during the quarter under review, with the exception of POS, Cheque and ATM volumes. The value of transactions processed through the National Payment Systems (NPS) increased by 64 percent to $73,85 billion, in the quarter ending June 2019, from $44,96 billion recorded in the quarter ending March 2019.
