ZIMBABWE Traditional Sports and Games Federation(ZTSGF) president Lizzie Mupure says she is looking forward to the new and exciting challenge following her appointment as the second vice president of the African Traditional Sports and Games Confederation.
The recent appointment comes as a positive development for the ZTSGF who are set to host the 2028 Traditional Sports and Games Multi-Event Festival.
“I am humbled and truly honoured to have been appointed the African Traditional Sports and Games Confederation vice president,” she said.
“Being vice president is important to our nation and across Africa.
“I am very excited to start this new journey. This opportunity will bring home a lot of things, including sports tourism.
“I am truly grateful for all the 30 to 54 countries that will be coming to Zimbabwe in 2028.
“We are giving them a platform for increased participation and performance by bringing out these games for them. They will get to continuously assess themselves and compete with other regions,” said Mupure.
The ATSGC was established in 2018 to promote traditional sports and games.
