South Africa-based urban grooves artiste, Tendekayi Mushekwi popularly known as TK Hollun has made a return on the local scene with a new album “Hollun Vibez”
The album that carries 13 tracks is a reflection of the evolution of the artiste who once rocked the music scene with songs such as “Ndafunga Kure” and “Ukandiramba”.
His vocals are still up to scratch and his content mature and versatile.
“My songs from back then were coinciding with what was happening in my life back then. To this day it remains feel good music although I am exploring other avenues in music, genres and just being versatile. That is the reason for the album title ‘Hollun Vibes,” he said

The musician is currently promoting his latest project in the country with a tour that will see him perform in Harare and Masvingo.
Hit tracks from the album include “Ndiri ndega” that exposes the softer side of the artiste. The song is nothing like what the artiste has done before which is basically what he is about these days.

We also see the return of 2000 hit song “Mwana Wandaida” that sounds good in 2014 thanks to the Midas touch of Congolese Papi Minoki.
Complete with a rhumba feel, the song is proving popular in clubs where the artiste performs regularly in Durban.

Equally interesting songs include “Apa neapa” a remix done with the help of Nigerian born Captain Blu, “Ndinewe” that has a smashing follow up video.
“Being based in South Africa has had me realise how other countries promote their local musicians by pushing their music before any others. The media actually block foreign music no matter how good in order to expose their own. This is what lacks in our country and until we all do our part we will remain at the bottom. That is how you see P Square commanding thousands of fans locally while no one knows TK Hollun in Nigeria,” he said.

Meanwhile, the artiste is also running a successful recording studio Shakestone Studio that aims to keep Zimbabwean music alive in South Africa
The studio is also responsible for facilitating tours for local artistes in his Durban base.

While he is on record saying the shows are not profitable, he said it was the love of music that was fuelling the initiative.
