R&B sensation Tia has partnered with Huawei for a concert scheduled for December 17 at the Zimbabwe Germany Society in Milton Park. The 30 year-old beauty whose real name is Portia Njazi will be announcing her return to live performance this December setting the ball for her regional tour.

According to the deal, a number of lucky fans will walk away with mobile phones and other goodies courtesy of Huawei. Now, Christmas will definitely come early for those who will join Tia live on stage.

Huawei is the third largest mobile phone manufacture in the world. And partnering with Tia, who is a brand on the music is a big achievement and who knows, she could be angling at becoming the face of Huawei.

An elated Tia told The Herald Entertainment that she was busy with rehearsals for what she’s dubbed “The R&B Experience”.

“It’s been hectic preparing for the concert and I’m exciting that everything is coming out perfect and hope to see fans in their numbers on December 17. It is a show not to be missed,” she said.

The gap-toothed singer promised fans some classic R&B tracks backed by an eight-piece band.

Of late Tia has been performing in South Africa where she is now based. Her music is receiving airplay in on almost 30 radio stations across the Limpopo.

Her recent single “Forget the bills” has been topping the charts for seven consecutive weeks.

Tia’s second single “Brand New Day” ,a deep house track recorded in South Africa featuring a South African DJ Magnetik is also receiving generous airplay on the airwaves.

Of late, Tia has made it known that she is a crossover artiste whose music transcends regions and genres.

Though she’s rated among the top five R&B singers to emerge from Zimbabwe, she has done a couple of deep soulful house tracks where she nicely lays her vocals.

She has appealed to fans outside the country’s borders through her magic in penning love songs, a subject known by many whether good or bad.

Tia made a huge splash on the music scene with a Wheels of Fortune produced track “Boy You Got to Know” in 2003.

The video was an instant hit featuring Zimbabwe’s own Hollywood export Tongai Arnold Chirisa.

The video later took the region by storm after its debut on Channel O, a DStv satellite music channel.

She was to follow on this success with her first full length album “Spice It Up” which was to be the source of her Best Urban Grooves (Female) Award at the 2007 Zimbabwe Music Awards.

She went on to release “Euphoria” and ironically the euphoria around her died at the same time when she decided to pursue her studies.

She’s doing the rounds on almost every radio station with two new singles “Gimme Love” and “Forget The Bills.”
