There is no joy for lazy students Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired and most of us students, we are like this.

The worst dilemma for the students is laziness.

Laziness has brought many students down. Even the intelligent ones have failed to achieve what they want due to indolence.

Laziness is a state where you don’t want to do anything, you are totally unwilling to spend your energy.

One fun thing, some of us still have brand new brains, they haven’t been working since birth. It’s a sign of laziness.

Student life is like a penance where it is necessary to leave laziness and work hard to achieve the goals in perfect manner because society never listens to the excuses, they just see your results.

When you think doing a task is very difficult and even impossible for you this state is known as laziness.

Many students desire to do nothing and remain idle like a lifeless body.

Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired and most of us students, we are like this.

It is a secret ingredient that goes into failure but it’s only kept a secret from the person who fails.

One thing that always hits us hard as students is that we allow our flesh to overcome our spirits. And once the flesh dominates the spirit then nothing tangible will come out of the combination.

Sleeping and procrastination always catch up with us as students.

Most of us have failed to meet deadlines, write assignments on time, or even fail to complete exams due to laziness.

You find a fellow student failing to complete their answer sheet due to laziness.

Failure to write answers in an exam is a sign of laziness and many times, we have gone down without a fight because of laziness.

I am also a victim of this laziness, but I have always tried to shrug it off since no one will do what I am supposed to do.

My colleagues always laugh at me, since I always have a weird request that 24 hours are not enough for my errands. I actually need 48 hours in 24 hours, I know this can confuse you but that’s what I want.

I remember sometime last year, we were writing exams in June and I had a torrid time fighting laziness, I really wanted to read but my flesh was telling the other way.

Fellow students, there is no peace and joy in being lazy.

You will always regret, lament, cry foul, blame others, and be left behind. You lose a lot of opportunities due to laziness.

You miss chances and happiness.

We tend to enjoy sleeping and remain doing nothing. Like I always say, I am not a preacher of the word but I write what I see.

Many people are still confused, who I am but the reality is, I am just an ordinary young man who left home to change home.

My target this week is on my fellow lazy students who have no joy after all.

I will borrow a few words from the book of wisdom, where it says in Proverbs 22:13, The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside! I shall be slain in the streets!”

So the controlling emotion here is laziness but what does laziness have to do with the danger of a lion in the street?

Normally, we don’t say, “This man is too lazy to go do his work because there is a lion outside. The presence of a lion does not produce laziness, it produces fear. So what’s the point of the proverb?

The point is that the sluggard creates imaginary circumstances to justify not doing his or her work, and thus shifts the focus from the vice of laziness to the danger of lions.

Fellow students, no one will approve of our stay in the house all day just because we are lazy. But they might sympathize with us and approve of us staying home if there is real danger outside.

So, to hide our laziness and justify ourselves, we deflect attention away from the truth (laziness) to an illusion (lions).

This is what some of us are doing. He or she deeply desires to stay at home and not attend lectures.

There is no good reason to stay at home or in hostels.

Some of the students resort to staying at hostels or go have fun during lectures.

But the same people are always behind, some end up paying for getting some marks or favours.

Some are paying dissertations due to laziness. Where someone should use their brains, they are busy using money, that’s laziness.

I used to have a friend who did not want to attend lectures and he would remain at the hostels cooking and sleeping.

We ended up nicknaming him, Mr Cooker.

He never felt responsible to write assignments or even worry about being left out of the academic race.

At home, fees would be paid, he was just a living legend.

But the best way to avoid laziness caused by any reason is to stay in the mode of mindfulness.

Mindfulness is that state of mind where you are aware of yourself and you know what will make you feel down or energetic so you will obviously stay away from the things which will make you feel down or lazy.

Many times, lazy students are always behind, they can’t meet deadlines, they don’t write assignments.

Lazy students always complain if assignments or school work demands.

You have heard many times that human beings are quite lazy by nature and that’s very true. Some of the students are part of this nature.

A lazy student just wants to live a comfortable and luxurious life, he or she just can’t use their physical energy.

A lazy student can be defined as a student who has the intellectual ability to excel but never realises their potential because they choose not to do the work necessary to maximise their capability.

The effects of being lazy or uninterested in school work leads to poor performance on tests, resulting in low and failing grades.

Being lazy will cause student test scores to fall and ultimately fail and being lazy shows a lack of interest in school work and grades.

There are various and several reasons for laziness in students but laziness can never be beneficial for the students.

As we open a new term or semester, let’s overpower laziness.

There is no joy in being lazy fellow students.
