Preparations for the shooting of an upcoming feature movie titled “The Device” are underway. The movie will commence shooting in mid April this year. “The Device” is about a device which has been designed by four information technology masterminds and that has the ability to hold lines of communication between banks, the internet, phone calls and industrial companies. In the feature, the four designers sell the device to one local bank in Zimbabwe, and unfortunately, it is stolen and falls into the wrong hands of someone who wants to use it for evil purposes.

Director and writer of the movie Cliff Taruvinga said the film represents a change in the acting industry and added that they are trying to bring a unique style.

“This movie that we are about to shoot is unique, different from all the other movies that we have seen here in Zimbabwe, probably the first.

“We, as youths are the leaders of tomorrow, therefore, should change the environment through bringing new stuff into the movie industry.

“This will be a good feature movie, we want people to learn that the youths can do something that is visible regardless of the economic situation that prevails,” Taruvinga said.

Shooting will take place in areas such as the CBD (Harare), Mount Pleasant, and some parts of the ghetto. Auditions will be held on April 2.

Taruvinga also added that they have a high budget for the production.

“This movie will really be a hard nut to crack, but we will try as hard as we can to make sure we go through everything that needs to be done.

“We are also appealing to anyone that would want to partner or sponsor us to come aboard,” he said.

Taruvinga has featured in different films and series in Zimbabwe including “Dead End” and “Dilemma” and wishes to take his skills and experience to another level.

“We are also appealing to anyone that would want to partner or sponsor us to come aboard,” he said.
