WARRIORS and Houston Dynamo defender Teenage Hadebe is happy with how he has started life in the Major League Soccer in the United States.

The 25-year-old has played two matches for Tab Ramos’ side which have both ended in draws. And he has been receiving rave reviews from the acclaimed gaffer.

But, the former Kaizer Chiefs man has elected to remain focused on the job ahead.

“I am very much happy with my performances in the first two games which I have played here. Of course, it’s not a dream start to life in the MLS because we have dropped points in those matches but I am not disappointed,” said Hadebe.

“You know how it is being a newcomer. Everything is new, the players, the environment, the climate, everything.

“But, to be in the team, play two games and avoid defeat brings some good feeling.

“As a player, I am very happy with how everything has panned out.

“I am enjoying the game very much and I am acclimatising very well.

“Football is not very much different across the globe. I came here to deliver and I am happy it is looking promising. The environment is amazing, the coach and the players are all an amazing group.

“I think this has helped in my settling early. I hope everything will continue moving that way.

“I am enjoying everything and I am looking forward to a great season.”

Houston are sitting ninth on the log with 17 points from 15 games.

Hadebe said the team will need to up their game if they are to have a say amongst the big boys.

They are 31 points adrift of log leaders Seattle who have played a game more.

“Obviously as a team we need to pull up. We need to be more compact and improve in all the aspects of the game.

“We are not far off the leading pack and we are also not far off the basement teams. We need to develop an indomitable spirit and be robust. The team is looking sharp and we need to improve a bit to move up the ladder,” Hadebe said.

Coach Ramos has since praised his defence since Hadebe made his debut after joining from Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor.

“I think our defence looks solid. And I think we’re settled there. I’m happy with where we are on the defensive side,” Ramos said.
