Members of the Inter-Ministerial Taskforce on Covid-19 were yesterday tested for the disease.

The taskforce comprises 11 ministries and is chaired by the Vice Presidency.

In an online video statement yesterday, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Monica Mutsvangwa confirmed the development.

“The taskforce on Covid-19 are meeting everyday and are also going to the provinces to spread the message so that all our people take care of themselves and adhere to the messages put down for lockdown and so it’s important for the taskforce members to be tested.

“I am happy that this has been done and the testing itself was quite simple and fast and we would like to have all these facilities in all 10 provinces so that more and more of our people get tested so that we can curtail this threatening disease, Covid-19,” she said.

The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr Nick Mangwana said the taskforce had been tested because of the regularity of their meetings.

“Members of the taskforce were directed to get tested for #Covid19Zim as they are meeting regularly and are not in self-quarantine,” said Mr Mangwana.
