Cotton Company of Zimbabwe former chief executive Pious Manamike has taken his bid to reverse the State’s temporary seizure of his vehicles to the Supreme Court while his fraud case is being prosecuted.
The vehicles were seized last year following an application by the Prosecutor-General to ensure that Manamike does not sell or destroy his assets until the criminal case is concluded.

Manamike, through his lawyer Mr Tinofara Hove, failed to nullify the seizure order at the High Court, hence their Supreme Court appeal.

Justice Antonia Guvava, Justice Felistaus Chatukuta and Justice Joseph Musakwa will hear the appeal tomorrow.

In his High Court application, Manamike argued that the seizure order was irregularly granted as it took away his right to be heard before an independent and impartial court.

However, Justice Benjamin Chikowere did not find merit in the application and threw it out.

Manamike was arrested in July 2021 alongside former Cottco development marketing manager, Maxmore Njanji, on allegations of abusing Cottco resources to fund their projects.
