Suluman,Gospel Power thrill at Magacha’s party

Dendera king Suluman Chimbetu and gospel outfit Gospel Power thrilled fans at Sebastian Magacha’s birthday celebrations held over the weekend at Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex. The birthday bash that was dubbed “Seba@30” live up to billing with a number of artistes taking turns to entertain fans. The dendera king who was amongst the performing artistes gave a sterling performance that left fans begging for more.
He performed his songs “Mufambe Nesu”,“Kwedu” a song he did with Oliver Mtukudzi and by public demand he played “Sean Timba” much to the delight of the fans.
During his performance he moved amongst the fans as he played his guitar while he allowed some fans to sing one or two lines of his songs.
Then Gospel Power who later on went to the stage gave a spectacular performance.
The duo sang their popular hits “Tafura”, “Anochengeta”, “Who is this man” that were sing along tunes for the audience.
In an interview with the Herald Entertainment, Pastor Lawrence Gunda of Gospel Power said it was an honour to be part of the celebrations.
“To us it is an honour to be part of the celebrations of Magacha’s belated birthday bash and we thanking God for keeping him up to this day.
“As artistes we are one and we will continue to support each other when there is an opportunity to do so,” he said.
Other artistes that performed include Flem B, Vabati vaJeovah, CCAP Choir Voice of Mbare, Mathias Mhere, Joel Maphosa, Cynthia Mare, Pastor G and the African Praise amongst others.
The host Magacha and the African Praise band performed a number of songs from their latest album “Last Commando”
He opened his act with the song “Nemunato” as he appreciated God who has kept him until now.
Other songs he sang that kept the audience on the dancefloor include “1+1”, “Bhosvo”, “Gwenzi”, “Makaponesa Mweya Wangu”, “Messiah Oh” and “Jehovah”.
Magacha also had a collaboration song with musician Willis Wataffi of Afrika Revenge that was warmly received by the fans.
The song is a remix of “Wanga” and “Ndipeiwo Simba” and the chorus wanga became a sing along tune.
Magacha said he was overwhelmed by the support he got from both fans and artistes.
“I really feel honoured by the support I got from my fans and fellow musicians who braved the cloudy weather and made the show to be a success.
“I also want to thank my wife who has always been there for me and her support has made me who I am today,” he said.
