So they never did
Some people had “flown” before, but forgot how to.
So they never remembered.
Some people know they can fly, but never try because they are surrounded by F-E-A-R.
So they quit.
Some people want to see others “fly” first before they “fly”.
So they waited.
Some people wait for a mentor to teach them how to fly.
So they waited.
Some people “flew” before and fell down, so they claimed that “flying” is dangerous and useless.
So they whined and quit.
But, some people are “flying” everyday, looking from below the sky, overseeing everyone who is not “flying” just because they took a step to fly . . .
I had taken my “flying” lessons and fell many times.
But now, I have discovered my wings again.
Have you started “flying” yet? (Patrick Chan)
There are certain things about you that you take for granted. There are certain things you used to do right and good but you just stopped and you do not know why. You may want to get back but you are afraid or wonder if you are still good and are therefore waiting for someone to strengthen you and get you to start. There are certain things that you may have tried and when you experienced some setbacks you stopped and cower back in disappointment.
There are certain things that you have never done and are really in your heart but fear is getting the better of you hence you have never tried. There are certain ideas, certain things you want to do but you are not sure, hence you are waiting for someone to do them, then you follow. Of course, these take the pioneer out of you, depriving you of the benefits of primacy.
You could be one of those people who really know that you want to achieve great heights, but you feel you lack the information and skill hence you are waiting for a mentor, you are waiting to study the degree programme that teaches you to do the job.
These experiences happen in our lives everyday. It could be in school, business, ministry, marriage or relationship. You have given up, you feel you can’t do it and you imagine yourself failing. One of the greatest mistakes you can make is to include your imagination in all this. Your body will never achieve what your imagination has seen you failing to. Your achievement will always be as high as your imagination. You cannot achieve things beyond your imaginative power.
The body can never achieve outside the mind; in fact, your body always follows your mind. The height of your imagination is the ceiling of your achievement. Never give up flying. If you have experienced setbacks, learn from them; do not brand yourself a failure. Failure is not the experience of falling down, but rather the acceptance of that experience as your portion and destiny. In you is the willpower, your four-wheel-drive out of mediocrity. You may be afraid of flying, that is, you look at what you want in life and you can’t imagine achieving or being it. Fear stands for False Evidence Appearing Real, a friend of mine told me.
Fear is the one biggest factors that has trapped people in mediocrity. Fatalistic behaviour is retrogressive and dangerous.
You can’t afford to live a failed life, how can you accept failure of a result you haven’t wrought. Do not let fear cause life to run you over, play the game, and prove your mantle. You may be one of those who wonder if they can still get back to former glory.
The thing that made you glorious previously is still in you, between your ears. Coming back is an art and with proper learning from previous mistakes, you can rebuild that business, you can get back into politics, you can marry again or fall in love again. The future remains untainted by the past and that’s a decision you make. The one most important source of wealth, happiness, success and a full life today is between your ears. It’s not between your nose, not between you arms, not between your legs, your brains remain the most important part of your body and for as long as you use them effectively. You can rise to any level of success and significance.
Hope you were inspired, remember not to pack your bags yet but to rather stretch your wings and fly. See you next week, as we become better people together. Stay inspired and never give up. Be the best! Just be the best!
