Raping and impregnating a 14-year-old stepdaughter earned a Buhera man 30 years imprisonment. Tatenda Chawanika (32) of Dhewa Village, Chief Chitsunge who was not represented and was denying ever abusing his step-daughter will, however, serve 25 years in jail after Rusape regional magistrate, Mr Livingstone Chipadza suspended five years on condition of good behaviour.

The stepdaughter has since given birth. Rusape area prosecutor, Mr Tirivanhu Mutyasira, told the court that Chawanika on two occasions took advantage of the absence of his wife who is the girl’s mother to sexually abuse her before threatening her with death if ever she divulged the abuse to anyone.

Sometime in October 2014, Chawanika and the complainant were at home.

While the complainant was doing laundry in the kitchen hut, the accused person entered the kitchen and grabbed her by the collar and raped her.

After the rape, Chawanika threatened to kill the complainant if she revealed the matter to anyone.

In October 2014, the girl arrived home from school and found the accused person alone seated under a tree.

Teenage pastor at it again . . . another woman carrying his baby

A TEENAGE pastor who hit the headlines recently for having an affair with a married woman has been sucked into yet another messy sexual relationship with another woman who claims to be four months pregnant bearing the man of God’s child.

Last month, Pastor Frank Emmanuel (19) of Living Waters, was caught at the centre of a marriage break-up after he confirmed his relationship with the founder of Dangamvura-based Faith, Hope and Life Ministries, Bernadette Nyanga (26) who is married to Leslie Mparutsa (26).

He defended his affair with Nyanga saying his lover had since left her husband.

Before the dust could settle, another woman has emerged saying she was waiting for the youthful pastor to pay the bride price to her parents but got the surprise of her life when she read the story in the newspaper.

Hellen Mushuma (20) claimed she is four months pregnant with the young pastor’s baby but says Emmanuel is now refusing to marry her as he had promised.

She said she was forced into a relationship with Emmanuel after the pastor had healed her mother in August this year and demanded sexual favours in return.

Mushuma said when she fell pregnant; Emmanuel was quick to promise her marriage but asked her to keep the pregnancy a secret. – Manica Post Weekender.
