This year’s edition of the Stanbic Jacaranda Music Festival will kick-start the October entertainment calendar in style with local, regional and international artistes set to grace the event.

Running from today till Sunday under the theme “The Music, The People, The City”, an array of performers are to strut their stuff at Thorn Park, Polo Club, outside Harare.

Established in 2018, the Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Festival seeks to create a platform for musicians and various stakeholders to discuss challenges, opportunities and innovations within the music business.  Several artistes from Zimbabwe and beyond are expected to give fans value for their money. Freeman, Agga Nyabinde, Feli Nandi, Micasa,Dlala Thukzin and James Sakhala are some of the acts gracing the event.

Fans should also expect a good run for their money as artistes billed to perform are no strangers to the local and international entertainment scene.  Freeman has been afforded an opportunity to share the stage with Ace Frvr, The Travellers Band and Reverb7.

Top South African house music trio Micasa, who have found their way into the hearts of Zimbabwean fans since their first performance in Harare in 2013, is expected to rekindle memories of their first gig with songs such as “These streets”, “Barman” and “Jika” among others. The party continues tomorrow with Afro fusion artiste Agga Nyabinde performing for the first time at the event.

Fans will be looking forward to hits such as “Kufara Kweumwe”, and obviously a trip down memory lane with his late father Bob Nyabinde’s “Chabuda Hapana” song that has always drawn crowds to the dance floor. Songbird of the moment Feli Nandi is set to serenade crowds with surprise performance as she has been making waves lately on the entertainment and culinary circles.  After Feli’s dazzling performance at the recently held Oliver Mtukudzi International Festival of Arts, fans should expect nothing short of an exciting playlist like “Muti Watemwa”, “Mubayeyi” and “Mufudzi Wemombe”. Superstar Casper Nyovest is expected to bring the house down with club bangers such as “Phumakim”, ‘Doc Shebeleza’ and “Gusheshe”. Mbeu, Mary Anibal and Sylent Nqo are set to perform playlists of reggae icons at the event. A lot is expected from Mbeu who recently performed in South Africa alongside Yvonne Chaka Chaka at the Oliver Mtukudzi Tribute Concert.  The trio will be complemented by Jose Sax and Victoria Falls musical outfit Mokoomba, who are back from a successful US tour, will perform at the closing night.

The group is expected to share stage with Musa Keys who has endorsed the  festival with a post on social media, James Sakala from Zambia, Idiope-Cuervo Lento (Spain),Master H,Backtrack vocals from the US and Felo le Tee from South Africa on decks.
