Stabilising prices boon for showbiz Sulumani Chimbetu

As temperatures continue to rise and prices stabilise, out-goers are in for a treat at different venues this weekend.

Let Them Festival

Young creatives from primary schools countrywide will today and tomorrow be expressing their artistic talents in theatre, poetry, music and dance at the 7th annual Let Them Festival.

To be held at Harare Polytechnic, the festival will feature performances by seasoned artists including Ammara Brown, Chengeto Brown, Sniper Storm, Tammy Moyo and Tariro Negitare.

Dendera VIP

Theatre in The Park tonight opens its doors to Dendera fans as musician Sulumani Chimbetu graces the venue for a performance.

Dubbed “Dendera VIP”, the show is expected to pull high spenders.

At the same venue on Saturday, poets will battle for top honours at the monthly Kanyanisa Poetry Slam.

Borrowdale Brooke Rotaract Induction

All is set for the Borrowdale Brooke Rotaract Induction dinner and charity banquet to be held at Meikles hotel in Harare tomorrow.

The red carpet event will see Dr Eve Gadzikwa as guest of honor and Temwani Kaunda inducted at president of the club.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Hatcliff Community.

Poetry workshop

Another boost for poetry lovers this Saturday is a workshop at Longchen Plaza.

Dubbed “Emotions In A Cup” the workshop will have various speakers including by Nyasha Jeche, a celebrated creative.

Last of the Suns

As they continue to nature local theatre, Almasi Collaborative Arts will tonight hold a stage reading of Alice Tuan’s play “Last of the Suns” Reps Theatre.

Directed by Almasi associate artistic director, Zaza Muchemwa, the staged reading will feature the talents of Tafadzwa Bob Mutumbi, Chimwemwe Joy Chipidza, Charmaine Mujeri, Francis Nyakuhwa , Ronald Sigeca and Michael Kudakwashe.

 Laughter by the fire

To warm up the winter night with laughter and born fire, National Gallery of Zimbabwe in conjunction with Enthuse Africa will hold yet another monthly First Friday event tonight.

Dubbed “Laughter By The Fire”, the event will feature celebrated stand-up comedians Doc Vikela, Tinaye Wayne, Kadem the Comic and CKhanyiso.

Mai Titi birthday bash

It’s a denim affair this Sunday at Motor Action Sports Club as comedienne Mai Titi will be celebrating her 33rd birthday.

Various big names in local entertainment are expected to attend.
