SHABANIE Mine coach Takesure Chiragwi says his charges tend to find their touch when they are playing the giants of the domestic Premiership.

Chiragwi’s men are bracing for a derby duel against FC Platinum this weekend.

They are also one of just two top-flight teams to get a point from Tonderai Ndiraya’s high-flying Ngezi Platinum.

“We have been failing to get maximum points in our recent matches but I am happy that in our last game we collected maximum points,’’ said Chiragwi.

“It is a motivation for the players as well as everyone associated with the club.

“We play well when we play against these big teams and we struggle when we play against the small teams in the league.

“The guys tend to motivate themselves when they are playing against the big guys and as a coach your job is a bit easy coming into these games, the players know the significance of these matches.

“When we get into the field of play we will be determined to stop these big sides and against FC Platinum the motivation is the same and we want to play well in that match.

“This is a derby and the match comes with an extra motivation for the players to do well.’’

The coach said their opponents’ bigger profile will not worry them.

“That they are the champions and have been doing very well this season will not have any significance in the weekend’s game,’’ said Chiragwi.

“Our players are psyched up and raring to go.

“We previously played well against some big teams and we want to continue like that.’’
