Afro jazz singer Selmor Mtukudzi has collaborated with rising gospel musician Mathias Mhere on a track titled “Ndinochengetwa naMwari” to be released this week. Mtukudzi said she approached Mhere for collaboration on the track, which is a remix to her previous song with the same title, since she admires his work. The diva said it was her long-time desire to work with Mhere and is happy that it has finally come to pass.

“I have always admired Mhere’s music and I decided to approach him so that we could work together on the remix and he agreed.

“This track will be out on Thursday as we are finishing the recording today (yesterday),” she said.

The single is all about acknowledging the protection and power of God in people’s lives.

“The track ‘Ndinochengetwa naMwari’ promises to be a hit. It says whatever I have including having a family, husband, joy and peace comes from God who also looks after us every day,” she said.

Mhere said he is happy to work with her because of the lyrical content of the song and said the new year is about to bring dynamic things. “This new year is about doing new things and I decided to work with Selmor.

“I was touched most by the strong message the song carries and saw it proper to add my voice to it. People should look out for an exciting combination of afro jazz and gospel,” he said.
Mhere is currently riding high with his latest album “Nguva yeNyasha” that is dominating most radio charts.

He has also roped in comedian David Mubaiwa popularly known as Sabhuku Vharazipi on his forthcoming video album.

Selmor, wife to musician Tendai Manatsa has a popular song “Nguva Yangu” from her current album called “Expressions”.

Last year the couple decided to do solo projects to allow each other to explore their potential.
