President Mnangagwa has launched the second phase of the Zimbabwe-Belarus Farm Mechanisation Programme which has seen the delivery of an additional 1300 tractors, 14 combine harvesters and disc harrows.

The programme was launched at the Institution of Agricultural Engineering in Hatcliffe, Harare in the presence of visiting Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.

Under Phase One of the Belarus mechanisation drive, Zimbabwe took delivery of 474 tractors, 60 combine harvesters, 210 planters and five lowbed trucks which have been distributed to farmers through the Land Bank and CBZ.

The programme is expected to drive the country’s food self-sufficiency in line with the Second Republic’s Vision 2030.
