ALL is set for tomorrow’s official opening of the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology at Knowstics Academy in Bonda, Manicaland.

The Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology was born after the revolutionary ruling party, Zanu-PF, took cognisant of the need to impart foundational ethos regarding the country’s history among its members.

It is also meant to mould and produce disciplined and conscientious cadres within the ruling party.

Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs Dr Ellen Gwaradzimba is expected to be the guest of honour at the event.

War veterans leader in Manicaland Cde Gift Kagweda said some of the school’s principal directors and trainers were already in the province, including Retired Brigadier-General Asher Tapfumaneyi.

“The directors from Harare, including Rtd Brig-Gen Tapfumaneyi are already in the province for the official opening of the college on Saturday at Knowstics Academy in Bonda,” said Cde Kagweda.

“We have four trainers who started working on Monday and the school is expecting to recruit a total of six trainers.

“They have started with teaching the history of Zimbabwe, post-Independence history and most importantly our party Zanu-PF ideologies.”

Cde Kagweda said the school had already started recruiting, with 145 students already undertaking studies.

“After completing lessons on the party’s ideologies and the country’s history, there are multiple courses that one may opt to specialise in,” he said.

“This is because people have different skills for career advancement.”

Zanu-PF national political commissar Cde Engelbert Rugeje visited the province a few months ago and said no ruling party member would fit into their structures without passing through the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology.

Cde Rugeje said there were other party members who were not conversant with the ruling party’s ideologies, hence the need to educate them.

He emphasised the need to take party ideologies to the lowest ranks within the party to foster discipline and correctly orient its cadres.

The Zanu-PF provincial leadership, Government officials and party supporters are expected to attend the official opening of the school.
