LIVERPOOL. – Mo Salah has signed a new five-year contract with English Premiership soccer giants Liverpool worth £200 000 a week – and with NO release clause.

The Egyptian superstar had a stunning season under Jurgen Klopp last term and has put pen to paper on a new deal to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

Salah (26) won the PFA Player of the Year award for his heroics in the English top flight last term and he broke the Premier League season scoring record with 32 strikes.

But he endured a nightmare World Cup after injuring his shoulder in the Champions League final.

Egypt were knocked out in the group stages of the tournament and finished bottom of Group A behind Uruguay, Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Liverpool have not disclosed when his new big-money deal expires, but it is thought to last till 2023, following the previous deal he signed after joining from AS Roma.

Liverpool manager Klopp said the fact the 26-year-old striker – who scored 44 goals in just 52 appearances last season – signed such a deal reflected his belief the club were on course for a successful era. Salah’s goals played a large part in Liverpool reaching the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

However, that proved a rare sour note for the player as Salah was slammed to the turf by Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos, causing a painful separation of his left shoulder. – AFP.
