SADC chairperson President Mnangagwa has toured the Azerbaijan Service and Assessment Network (ASAN) centre and said Zimbabwe can take vital lessons from the one-stop shop.

He made the tour ahead of the COP29 climate change conference that will be officially opened in the Eurasian nation tomorrow.

During the tour, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Professor Amon Murwira accompanied President Mnangagwa.

Speaking after the tour, the SADC chair said: “I am very impressed by the technology and the services that are being provided for the citizens. I admire it and I hope someday we will be able to have this same facility back home.”

The ASAN Service is a government initiative designed to provide efficient, transparent and citizen-friendly public services.

The name “ASAN” means “easy” in Azerbaijani, reflecting the agency’s commitment to simplifying procedures.
