SA firm launches money transfer service in Malawi, Zim

JOHANNESBURG. – Hello Group, a financial technology firm, has launched its mobile money transfer service in Malawi and Zimbabwe. Through its money transfer service, Hello Paisa, Malawians who work abroad can send their families much needed funds, which they can now collect at any Malawi Post and First Merchant Bank branch. In Zimbabwe, Hello Group has forged strategic partnerships with popular retailers such as TM Stores, Pick ‘n Pay, Telecash and Zimpost for a similar service.

Managing director of Hello Paisa, Ahmed Cassim, said money transfer services contribute substantially to a country’s economy. “Not only is it an important source of household income for thousands of families, it serves as a key contributor to critical sectors like education, entrepreneurship and healthcare,” said Cassim.

Nadir Khamissa Hello Group chief executive officer, said, “We as an organisation see our services as not capitalising on informal sectors but building communities through technology to drive positive change within their societies.”

Khamissa called on Malawians and Zimbabweans to help bridge the gap on financial inclusion by experiencing the low-cost international money transfer solution that puts convenience and security first.

To sign up for this service all one needs to do is dial *130*43556# and select “call me back”. Once they are registered for the Hello Paisa service they can place orders through Hello Paisa’s Android Mobile phone application or via its call centre and then settle their transactions at any Hello Store, FMB, Shoprite, Pick n Pay or Spar stores countrywide. – CAJ News.
