LONDON. — Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly open to joining PSG as part of a deal that would see Neymar head the other way. Ronaldo has struggled for Real Madrid this season with just two La Liga goals, prompting many to deem the 32-year-old as being past his best.

As a result, talk has been rife that Los Blancos will replace him with PSG forward Neymar. Neymar only moved to the Parc des Princes from Barcelona in the summer but reportedly already wants out, with the Brazilian at odds with manager Unai Emery.

It has previously been mooted that Real Madrid would love to offer Ronaldo to PSG in order to land Neymar, who is viewed as the heir to the 32-year-old by club president Florentino Perez. And Spanish outlet Don Balon say Madrid plan to do just that at the end of the current campaign. Ronaldo himself is said to be fine with the idea of moving to Paris.

The Portugal international feels he would be able to win the Champions League for the club despite seeing egos such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani and Ronaldinho fail to do so in the past.

Don Balon say Ronaldo would spend a couple of years in Paris before moving to the MLS. Whether or not PSG accept, however, is a different matter entirely.

The Ligue 1 giants paid Neymar’s £200million buyout clause in the summer under the impression he would be their talisman for years to come. And, regardless of his exceptional form, letting him go after just a single season would no doubt cause unrest among the supporters.

Meanwhile, speaking last month, a tearful Neymar insisted he WAS happy at PSG. “I want to ask you to stop creating stories which are not true,” he told reporters.

“I want to say what I think. I’m totally realistic and what I don’t like is these false stories about me, there is nothing bothering me at my club. I’m here because I asked to be here. It’s going really well (in Paris), I’m really happy here and motivated.” — The Daily Express.
