The Herald

voted the second runner-up in the ballot to choose the best players in the Castle Premiership last season, is reported to have charmed the technical team at the Urban Warriors, during a trial stint.
The Monoz player went to Ajax Cape Town after he had tried his luck at Orlando Pirates.

Edzai Kasinauyo, who is managing the player, said Chitiyo should play in the domestic league for at least six months before he could consider a move to a professional league.
“Ronald is now back home and has since finished training with Ajax.

“The player managed to impress the technical team at Ajax, but they are interested in taking him for the coming season,” said Kasinauyo.

Registration for the mid-season in the South African Premiership closed on Thursday last week with the duo of Simba Sithole and Rodreck Mutuma managing to beat the deadline.
Sithole is at SuperSport United while Mutuma joined Bloemfontein Celtic.

“The technical team at Ajax was quite impressed by him (Chitiyo).
“He arrived at the club when they were changes in the technical staff but the new guys managed to watch Ronald in the friendlies matches.

“ Ajax want him to come next season and as such he should return home for some time,” said Kasinauyo.

Chitiyo arrived at Ajax as Wilfred Mugeyi, who was the assistant coach, was heading to Chippa United.
Mugeyi is the one who had shown interest in Chitiyo.
“Chippa also wanted him but it will be better for him to be at Ajax.

“It’s not only about the player being at Ajax but going to a club where he can develop his talent.
“He is an up-and-coming talent who needs to be managed well and I feel he has a lot of potential.

“So we will try to get him to play where he can develop,” said Kasinauyo.
Meanwhile, former Monomotapa skipper Brian Mapfumo has joined Botswana Premiership side Township Rollers.
