BLACK Rhinos have received a boost that could propel them to Castle Lager Premier Soccer League survival after sealing a sponsorship deal with Bell Petroleum.

The Zimbabwe National Army flagship side are struggling in the field of play and are currently anchoring the 18-team log table with six points from 12 games.

They are not far off the middle placed teams though as this year’s race is proving to be highly competitive.

And they could return from a three-week league break re-energised after Bell Petroleum yesterday stepped onto their logistical corner.

Besides providing travelling and playing gear as well as training equipment, the energy company will also chip in with winning bonuses for the army outfit.

The sponsorship was unveiled at a ceremony in Harare yesterday.

Bell Petroleum chairman and acting chief executive officer Bruce Tokwe said his organisation was happy to be associated with Black Rhinos.

“We would like to applaud this incredible team that we are sponsoring. These talented athletes have worked tirelessly and their dedication and commitment to excellence is truly inspiring,” he said.

“As Bell Petroleum, we have had the privilege to sponsor this team and we have been consistently impressed by their skill, teamwork, and unwavering determination to succeed.

“They have faced countless challenges and obstacles along the way but they don’t give up and they do not lose sight on their ultimate goal.

“We are proud to be associated with this team and we are honoured to play a part in their journey.

“To the players, coaches and staff, I offer my heartfelt welcome to you, to the Bell Petroleum family. You have inspired us all with your incredible talent and dedication.”

Guest of Honour Brigadier General Fidelis Mhonda hailed Bell Petroleum for the gesture.

“As you are aware, Black Rhinos is the flagship team for the Zimbabwe National Army and its success brings so much joy to the rank and file of the organisation,” said Brig Gen Mhonda.

“However the requirements to compete at the highest level in football requires quite a substantial amount of investment which Bell Petroleum has brought today.

“Henceforth, as a club, Black Rhinos has no reason to fail.

“To Bell Petroleum, let me say we really appreciate your love and commitment to our well-being. May your brand grow from strength to strength.

“I want to promise you that Black Rhinos will be worthy recipient of your sponsorship. The club is known for professionalism, dedication and competitiveness”.
