IN the end, probably  a share of the spoils was a fair result.

But Black Rhinos, will still feel hard done by a diabolic refereeing decision that denied them what appeared a genuine penalty shout on the brink of half-time, which could have been the turning point of this exciting Northern Region Soccer League tie at The Heart stadium yesterday.

Apart from the lack of goals, the game lived up to its billing with visitors MWOS doing enough to soak up the Rhinos pressure and retain their place at the summit of the log standings at the end of business yesterday.

MWOS took their tally to 44 points, one ahead of Rhinos.

In an earlier match at Motor Action Sports Club, Herentals U20 were also restricted to a 1-1 draw by visiting Ngezi U19.

But the focus was always on the one versus two, battle between MWOS and Rhinos.

MWOS coach Lloyd Mutasa was satisfied and felt that it was a fair result.

Mutasa said they would now immediately shift their attention to their next assignment, another tough test against equally ambitious Scottland at Ngoni in Norton.

“I think a draw was a big result for both teams.

“We went pound for pound, both teams created big chances in the first half and we created less chances in the second half but it’s a big result for both teams.

“We take the point home and we are looking forward to the next game,’’ Mutasa said.

Mutasa also noted that the huge protests from the Rhinos bench over the denied penalty appeal, were part of the game.

“It’s part and parcel of the game. Of course, there was a scuffle but it’s not an issue as we went past that.

“Football is an emotional game and that happens.

“We tell our players that you don’t have to give advantage to the team that you are competing with. Rhinos and Scottland are the teams we are in a race with,’’ added Mutasa.

Rhinos assistant coach Charles Mutero bemoaned their lack of cutting edge in attack.

“It’s a fair result, but we should have won the game.

“We need to improve on our attacking as we need goals,” Mutero said.
