One of the world’s leading airlines, Qatar Airways has today made its inaugural flight to Harare and Lusaka, a development that will improve connectivity, boost tourism, trade and investment between Southern Africa and the Middle East.

The new routes will become the airline’s fifth and sixth destinations in Africa since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in December 2019.

The award-winning airline’s state-of-the-art airbus A350-900 featuring 36 seats landed at Robert Gabriel International Airport midmorning today and was welcomed by Environment, Climate Change, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Mangaliso Ndhlovu, senior officials from the Government and the airline.

Qatar ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Tariq Al-Ansari who recently presented credentials to President Mnangagwa was among those that were at present to welcome the maiden flight from the Middle East.
