JOHANNESBURG. – The Premier Soccer League’s Executive Committee will hold an emergency meeting following the South Gauteng High Court’s ruling on “Ndorogate”. Judge Denise Fisher ruled in favour of Ajax Cape Town, thus setting aside the sanction of SAFA Arbitrator William Mokhari SC, while also referring the matter of Tendai Ndoro’s eligibility over to the FIFA Players’ Status Committee.

The league promptly responded with a statement of their own, insisting that the judge’s ruling did not reinstate Ajax to 15th position, nor did it deem the completed promotion/relegation play-offs – which were won by Black Leopards – invalid.
However, it was noted that further legal advice was still being sought.

KickOff.com has since been informed that the eight members on the Executive Committee, which consists of chairman Irvin Khoza, interim CEO Mato Madlala, Kaizer Motaung, Stanley Matthews, David Thidiela, Jose Ferreira, Dr Rejoice Simelane and Khumbulani Konco, will convene tomorrow at the PSL headquarters to deliberate on the way forward.
An appeal could be submitted to the Supreme Court of Appeals, challenging Judge Fisher’s award.

However, this is unlikely to be the relief sought from the league as proceedings could drag on and delay the start of the 2018/ 2o19 campaign, resulting in further fixture congestion and eventual loss of income.
Black Leopards team manager Tshifiwa Thidiela said to them nothing has changed.
“No, the judge didn’t say the play-offs will be played again,” Thidiela told KickOff.com.

“The judge didn’t say that, no. Ajax asked for three things. They asked for the decision to be set aside, they asked to be returned to number 15 and for the play-offs to be played again, but the judge didn’t agree to that.
“The only thing she agreed was the setting aside of the verdict. There is nothing, this doesn’t involve us.” – Kick-Off.
