At least 15 Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPSC) officers in Mashonaland West Province were promoted and conferred with various ranks at the Chinhoyi provincial offices.

Officer Petronilla Mupemhi was promoted to Chief Superintendent from Superintendent, while officers Florence Chigwida and Joshua Marango were elevated to Superintendents from Chief Correctional Officers.

Four other officers were conferred with the rank of Chief Correctional Officer from Principal Correctional Officer, while eight officers were conferred with the rank of Principal Correctional Officer from Assistant Principal Correctional Officer.

Officer Panganai Gorekore was conferred with the rank of Principal Correctional Officer posthumously after succumbing to an illness recently. The officer commanding ZPSC Mashonaland West Province Senior Assistant Commissioner George Denya congratulated the officers and urged them to keep on working hard.

“Indeed, it is through your hard work, dedication and loyalty that you have been elevated to your current ranks and I believe these promotions will go a long way in turning the fortunes of the ZPCS.

“Therefore, as senior members of the service, I encourage you to come up with effective mechanisms based on creativity and innovation in sustaining the organisation,” he said.
