President gifts crocodile attack survivors with solar-powered boreholes President Mnangagwa

Survivors of crocodile attacks in Chipinge, Manicaland Province, have applauded President Mnangagwa for installing solar-powered boreholes in their community to ensure that everyone has access to clean and potable water.

This comes after some Chipinge residents were attacked by crocodiles while fetching water in rivers and dams.

President Mnangagwa last year went on a mission to make sure that people in every region have access to a solar-powered borehole.

One of the crocodile attack survivors, Mrs Lainah Chitunguru thanked the President for coming up with the initiative.

“Before we had boreholes in this region, we used to go to Save River to fetch water to drink, wash clothes and plates, among other things,” she said.

“Due to that water scarcity and our many incidents with crocodiles, the President saw it fit for Checheche residents to get the boreholes.”
