Preps for Zim/SA Indaba at advanced stage

CAPE TOWN. — Preparations for the launch of the Zimbabwe South Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZIMSACCI) are at an advanced stage. Scheduled for Saturday at the Alliance Francaisse in Cape Town, the launch of the project follows realisation Zimbabwe did not have a platform for people to gather, network and discuss despite a significant number of them having ventured into business.

The chief executive officer of ZIMSACCI, Julius Shamu, said the mission was to serve its members with opportunities of meetings and conducting business with other members as well as empower members with resources to enhance their success. Mr Shamu runs a board responsible for the day to day running of the chamber.

“ZIMSACCI is a voice of the business. It speaks with a collective voice on public issues affecting business and the communities,” he said. The chamber members will become affiliated to the organisation once they pay their subscriptions which will be valid for a year pending renewal.

Apart from serving its members, ZIMSACCI will be affiliated to other local chambers such as the South African Chamber of Commerce and International Chamber of Commerce among others. “ZIMSACCI welcomes all individuals living in the republic, business people and organisations that require a platform to associate, network, foster business to business relationships and share ideas with peers from various business sectors,” said Mr Shamu.

We currently have a database of over 200 Zimbabwean-owned companies in South Africa. ZIMSACCI aims to launch branches throughout the major cities in neighbouring countries in the coming year. — CAJ News.
