A KOMBI driver lost his testicles during a dispute over US$1 bus fare and was in critical condition in hospital, the court heard on Tuesday.
Lovejoy Mutasa was allegedly assaulted by two lovebirds Anna Chipfiko (26) and her boyfriend (name not given) after he ordered them to disembark from the commuter omnibus he was driving because they had refused to pay the US$1 per head bus fare.
Prosecutor Miss Sharon Mashavira alleges that Chipfiko grabbed Mutasa’s private parts and pulled them off with her mouth.

Chipfiko was charged with attempted murder when she appeared before magistrate Mr Milton Serima.
Her boyfriend is on the run.

Miss Mashavira told the court that Mutasa was in a critical condition.
“Your worship we cannot set a trial date for this matter because the complainant is hospitalised and is in a critical condition.

“We are waiting for the medical affidavit that ascertains the extent of the injuries he sustained for the commencement of trial,” she said.
The magistrate advised Chipfiko to seek bail at the High Court and remanded her in custody to September 23. The State alleged that on September 7 around 11am, Chipfiko and her boyfriend boarded a commuter omnibus at Mupedzanhamo Flea Market in Mbare.

On reaching Rufaro Stadium, the conductor demanded bus fare but the pair refused to pay. Mutasa ordered them to disembark but Chipfiko and her boyfriend turned violent. They allegedly assaulted the conductor who fled the scene.

They then assaulted Mutasa with Chipfiko biting his testicles and pulling them off. Mutasa fell unconscious. Chipfiko was apprehended by other passengers while her boyfriend fled.
