AT least 500 women running small-to-medium businesses from all seven districts of Mashonaland West are currently attending a one-day financial literacy workshop in
Chinhoyi.
The workshop is being facilitated by Graca Machel Foundation’s New Faces-New Voices in conjunction with Central African Bank Society (CABS), Old Mutual, and the Ministry
of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development.
It is aimed at teaching and enhancing financial literacy to women involved in various businesses.
New Faces- New Voices projects coordinator, Ms Joyline Chikuni said the workshop is part of the organisation’s drive to support businesswomen with knowledge.
Similar workshops have also been held in other provinces such as Masvingo, Manicaland, and Midlands.
The provincial development officer in the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Mr Patrick Rangwani said the workshop was
critical in ensuring that the key constituency of Zimbabwe’s economic sector is empowered.
The attendees include vendors, caterers, tailors, farmers, and miners among others.
