One Voice Concert to preach Unity

Organisers of One Voice Concert that is set for the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on December 22 say they chose the Unity Day holiday for their event to encourage religious unity. One Voice Concert director Learmore Tavengwa said the concert will encourage unity among believers from various denominations in the spirit of Unity Day Holiday.

“It is not by coincidence that this concert will take place on Unity Day. It is because we have a purpose for the nation and for the unity of people from various backgrounds and denominations. We want people to come and unite as they worship together,” said Tavengwa.

One Voice Concert will have various choral groups including Zimpraise and Spirit Praise. United States-based diva Shingisai Suluma will be the main attraction at the event.

Tavengwa said they have been bringing people together through various events under the Spirit Praise banner and they want the upcoming concert to be an occasion that speaks to national unity. “Many musicians will be on one stage preaching peace and unity. We are going towards the end of the year and we want people to get into New Year with a spirit of love, happiness and togetherness. That will be our message at the concert.” The event is set to begin at 2pm on the day in order to accommodate various interdenominational choirs that will take turns on stage.

Suluma will close the concert with her act that is expected to quench thirst for her music among her fans. She will sing most of her yesteryear hits to take fans down memory lane.
