Old Skool veterans Kudzie “Mr Kool” Marudza and Witness Chuman Matema will this Saturday go head-to-head with youthful DJs at Main Bath Open Air in Mutare.

Dubbed Old Skool versus New Skool, the gig will see Mr Kool and Chuman going up against a youthful line up of DJs who include Zintronix, Lampy, Diamond FM’s Ranga, and Main Bath Open Air resident DJ- Hollies B.

Revellers will get a feel of new skool music your trap soul, R&B and hip-hop as well as some cheesy stuff.

The gig starts at 12noon until 6pm followed by an after-party at Mutare Main Bath Open Air.

In an interview, Chuman, said the gig was more of a get together for music lovers and families.

“There will be lots in store for children and adults. We have lined up games, water slides for children and jumping castles as well as braai.

“And of course there is going to be plenty of music lined up for both young and the old. We want to see who thrills the most- the new skool or old skool music,” he said.

He added that old skool pundits are assured of a great time with radio legends.

Chuman hinted that there will be many more such gigs in the Manicaland border town.

“We are bringing a lot of excitement in Mutare where entertainment has been less.So for us this is an opportunity to ensure that those who visit the city have somewhere to spend time and quality entertainment to partake in. We are bringing three generations on one show because we have the children, youths and elderly who will be entertained by universal language which is music,” he said.

The two will also bring to life yesteryear music.

And as always, Mr Kool and Chuman who have 30 years of experience of jamming between them are arguably the experts in the area of old skool music.
