It will be a weekend of old skool music when granddads of mature music, Soul Train, perform at Food Nest at Longcheng Plaza tonight.

The group has performed at several venues in Harare and left lasting impressions. They will be having another dance with patrons that like to hang around Longcheng Plaza after previously performing at the complex. It will be another day to prove their mettle. Specialising in cover versions of classic hits in various genres, the group has made a mark in live shows.

The group’s spokesperson Tendai Mavi said they are expecting a great show tonight.

“We have done good shows at most venues that attract mature followers and we are ready to take people that love old skool music for another dance. It is good to have these shows and I am sure people will love every part of the event,” said Mavi.

“We will have something great for the fans. They will definitely enjoy the show. We will also have a segment when people can choose songs they want us to play. It will be a full package and we promise the best on the night.”  The group does international and local cover versions. Local songs from the likes of Thomas Mapfumo, Oliver Mtukudzi, Pied Pipers, Zexie Manatsa and Leonard Dembo are popular with fans. A spokesperson of Food Nest said they had chosen the group to come to their venue because of the reputation they have with followers of old skool music.

“This group is one of the best old skool outfits in the capital. They have had great shows at several venues and we want them to be regulars at our shows. They do not disappoint and people that are coming for this show are assured of a memorable outing. We have also planned good surprises and promotions for our patrons,” said the spokesperson.
